The Celebration of Life service will be Wednesday, June 30 at 10:00 am at the Angus Church of the Nazarene http://www.angusnaz.com/ near Ruidoso, New Mexico. There will also be a celebration service in San Diego, California at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Bonita Park (this is where my mom has worked for the past three years and where my parents live) designated for an 18 hole miniature golf course for the Nazarene campground. This was a project she was excited about and was talking about it the day before she passed away.

Praying for you guys. Your mom was a special lady and the thing that amazed me as I saw pictures and blogs was her humor never stopped. She was the Pat I knew to the end. She is surely having fun in heaven. Love you and you will be in our thoughts and prayers.

Howard, Sara, Amy and Jeff, & family, I am very sorry for your loss. Although I did not know your mother well, Steph has shared stories of wonderful, happy times spent with her and your family. Your mother is no longer in pain and I am sure she is having a blast in Heaven as she did where ever she was. I send my love to your family through this difficult time and my thoughts and prayers are will you. I would be honored to attend the Celebration of Life for her in San Diego at a later date.
ReplyDeleteSara,
ReplyDeleteYour mother was a wonderful woman. I will always remember her generosity and hospitality when I was a "Point Loma girl" far from home. She was a rare person who encouraged everyone she met. My prayers have been with her and will continue to be with you and your family.

Sorry to here of your loss. I knew Pat at Carlsbad First Church of the Nazarene. She was a very sweet person. I loved her smile and sense of humor. I had not see Pat in a very long time but we reconnected on Facebook. She will be missed by so many people. Love to all her family, Becky (Parker) East, from Carlsbad, NM but lives in Half Moon Bay, CA now.

Pat was a dear friend. She epitomized Philippians 1:21 -- "For me to live is Christ, to die gain."
ReplyDeleteLiving out that verse, Pat sure showed us over a life time what it meant. I have an idea that since there was so much laughter in her life, there was a chuckle or two even as she faced death. And why not, since to die is gain.
Thanks Lord, for the ultimate "Win, Win", to live Christ, to die gain.
And thank you, Pat and Howard, for being such a blessing to Aleta and I. We will cherish the memories and be bless all over again!
Onward with purpose,
Chaplain Paul Slater
Sara,Amy,Howard and Jeff, my heart is heavy with sadness for you. Pat was a blessing to everyone she touched. She leaves behind good memories and great examples of how to be a good person. We talk about you guys all the time, she will always be remembered fondly on Orangemont Way! All our love,

You don't know me at all, but I was looking for that "What Cancer Can't Do" prayer and stumbled across your blog. My mom has been going through cancer and I am so sorry for your loss. I briefly glanced over your older posts and was inspired by what you all did to keep spirits up-something my family and I have been trying to desperately find right now. Again, I don't know you and you don't know me but I will keep you in my thoughts!
